How much does an HMO licence cost in Plymouth?

When you convert a property to a new HMO or purchase an exiting HMO, you will need to apply for a Licence with Plymouth City Council. You can apply for a Licence via the Plymouth City Council website.

The standard fee is £900. A licence will generally last for five years. Some discounts currently apply, and you can pay as little as £650 for the licence if the licence holder is accredited and applies within six weeks of the property becoming licensable.

After five years, the property will need to be re-licensed. The standard fee is £850. Again, some discounts do apply, and you can pay £600 for the re-licence if the licence holder is accredited.
